I had some issues with my car. I reached out to almost all the automotive mechanics in Birmingham but no one would help me. I received a call back JPDMAX and not only did he patiently find out all that was wrong with my car, he did it all off the clock. That was major considering he charges $75 an hour. He bought all the things he thought I might need for my car, came to where I was in the rain and he fixed my car. When he realized I did not need as much work done, he told me and walked me through the whole process so I would know and what was suppose to be a $432 job turned into an $180 job because he refused to over charge me or make me get work do that was not needed. He also called the next day to make sure all was well. I will not go anywhere else. I want everyone to experience what I did with JPDMAX. I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!

Common questions and tips from our work with Birmingham customers.
- How do I know my brake pads need replacing?
- Common signs are a high-pitched squeal, a grinding sound, a longer stopping distance, or a brake pedal that feels soft or pulses. Many pads have a wear indicator that squeals when they get thin. Grinding usually means metal on metal, which damages rotors, so get the brakes checked before a pad job turns into a rotor job.
- What are signs of worn struts or shocks?
- Watch for a bouncy ride, the nose diving when you brake, body lean in turns, or uneven, cupped tire wear. Leaking fluid on a strut or shock body is another clue. Worn struts and shocks lengthen stopping distances and make the car harder to control, so they are worth inspecting along with tie rods and control arms.
- Can I bring my own parts and fluids?
- Yes. You can bring your own parts and fluids, or we can supply them. If you buy your own, have the year, make, model and engine size ready so you get the correct part, and keep the receipt in case the part turns out to be wrong or defective.
Tip
Do Not Skip the Less Common Fluid Changes
Oil gets most of the attention, but transmission, differential, brake, power steering and coolant fluids all break down with heat and time. Check your owner's manual for the intervals your vehicle calls for, and pay attention if a fluid looks dark, smells burnt or runs low. Catching it early protects far more expensive parts.
